Baby Update

The babies had their 2 month "well baby" checkup on Monday at their pediatrician in Elk River...everything continues to look great with them.

Grace

Grace gained 5 ounces between her two appointments, and is now just shy of 6 lbs. The doctor prescribed some medications for her (supposed) stomach troubles (she's been spitting up a lot and is VERY gassy). Our approach will be to administer the medicine once daily for a week... if she continues to have troubles, then the diagnosis will be considered erroneous and we'll go back to the drawing board. If the issue is resolved, then we're in business.

Ella

Ella maintained her weight between appointments, but grew 1/2 inch. She is a patient and mild-mannered baby (even in the NICU she was quite content). She is very quickly reaching the breaking point in her preemie outfits, and will probably graduate within a week to newborn sizes.

Joel

Oh, the Baby B. Somehow, Joel managed to gain 15 ounces (almost one pound) during the week between his doctor's appointments. We were also informed that he is in the 90th percentile for length. After arriving home, we found it necessary to lecture him about taking all of Ella's milk for himself. He just bounced around and looked very satisfied with himself.

Family

We finalized our photo purchase, which includes digital copies of all the prints. Once we have these in hand, we will post them to the blog. We're really happy about the way the pictures turned out.

Ginger and I continue to hang in there, and manage to make it through each day because of the help given to us by our family and ward members, and (more importantly) because of the power of prayer. We continue to pray on a consistent basis that our little ones will soon learn to eat quickly and effectively, because that will allow us to start to establish a routine.

We have a lot to be grateful for, and we love our children!
