soooooo behind

End of October and start of November 2012
 Dad was here.  He got to enjoy trick or treating with lions, tigers, bears and for a brief moment an owl and ballerina monkey.  He took Jade deer hunting.  Jade was successful on his first trip out and was able to learn a lot from Dad- about how to clean a deer.

December  We took a trip to TN to spend Christmas with Aunt Aly, Uncle Zeph and baby Memphis.  The reindeer ate all their carrots and oats, Santa ate all his cookies and Elfy Spicy left a room full of red and green balloons- the kids had to chase all the balloons away just to see if Santa came.  The only sad news was Ella lost her original baby lovie bear.  It was just as traumatic for Mom as it was Ella- they both cried the whole way home and to this day- we still pray original baby lovie bear will be found and returned to the lovie bear family.  It was so wonderful to be with my sister for Christmas.  My other sister, Kassy and her soon to be husband Bradley- were also able to stop by and hang out of a couple of hours. 

January- was pretty uneventful.

February- life came to a stop.  We got a call on Feb 6th stating that the night before on Feb 5th Ginger's dad had been in a near fatal motorcycle accident.  Ginger ran out the door with a giant suit case full of 7 scarf's.  She arrived at the hospital on Feb 7th- clearly to see the situation was worse than originally thought.  Her older brother Joel flew in from Washington and David from Ft Worth- all the kids by phone or person were able to say goodbye.  Dad slipped through the veil just a few hours before Valentines day.  Ginger was able to sit with Dad- singing songs, praying, and calling all of his kids for one last goodbye.   Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Waller, Texas.  The service was beautiful and ended with military honors and the United States Flag being presented to his high school sweetheart and now widow.  Ginger and the kids got stuck in a blizzard in Kansas on the way home.  It made for a long, long, long trip home. 

March- Life is settling down and reality is settling in.  We are grateful to know that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us and has promised us that Families are Eternal.  Knowing that I will be with my parents again someday has been of great comfort. 


We'd like to extend a big thank you- for all the flowers, prayers, and love.  Sadly, everyone will experience this- we are not special- we are not the only ones to lose a loved family member, but having good friends and family around do make the bitter times much more sweeter. 

Dad always said he was going to ride off into the sunset..... and he did.
