So this is what sleep is like...

Against all odds, we appear to have cracked the baby code. For the last week, our little ones have essentially slept through the night. You may ask: "what does this mean?" Well, even prior to a week ago, the girls started spontaneously not waking up overnights. At first, Ginger and I looked at one another, bleary-eyed and confused, convinced that the other must certainly have fed the girls. Then, we dumbfoundedly concluded that they actually slept!... for 7 hours!

We began to experience a wonderful thing: we fed them around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM, put them to bed, listened to a tiny bit of fussing, and then went through an entire evening without any waking or crying. Mom and Dad both enjoyed blissful annd uninterrupted slumber. Baby B occasionally decides that he needs a midnight treat, but--for the most part--the kids have slept 8 - 9 hours solidly now for the last week.

And they do so cheerfully. Yesterday, little Grace didn't eat very large meals. She went to bed at 7:00 with her brother and sister and then woke up around midnight (Ginger heard her squirming and making tiny squeaks). Normally, the babies would remain partially awake for around 10 minutes or so and then fall asleep again. Last night, though, Baby C stayed awake for around an hour and began to diligently suck on her hand without even making any other verbal sounds. She knew that Mommy needed some sleep and so was quietly and patiently just sucking her hand... Ginger had compassion on her and gave her a lovely snack.

This morning, after 11 1/2 hours of peaceful slumber, Ginger WOKE Ella up because our most peaceful child was just sleeping so well!

And last, but certainly not least: Baby B. His tired cry is simply so pathetic and heartbreaking. We love to give him a little hug and then tuck him in each evening.

Let's just say that it's a whole new world! We LOVE our babies!
